Edith Humphrey received her doctorate in 1991 from McGill University and is a specialist in New Testament and Christian Origins, teaching at Augustine College and the University of Ottawa. She speaks frequently in various Christian milieus, including churches and conferences connected with the Anglican communion, to which she belongs, the Salvation Army, and the United Church. She is the author of the book The Ladies and the Cities (Sheffield, 1995) and lives in Aylmer, Quebec with her husband Christopher and her three daughters.
